PRINCIPAL PURPOSE: The primary role of the Maintenance Supervisor is to ensure the safe and efficient leadership of the mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and contract technicians at the Lincoln site. This position supervises up to 12 hourly employees. Individual will assist with improving reliability of the physical assets by eliminating unanticipated failures by using sound proactive maintenance strategy, analysis of failure causes, recommending design enhancements, and developing improved repair methods. He/she maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or completed work. Individual will also assist with the optimization of resources and reduction in total maintenance costs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain a clean shop and work areas. Provide an injury-free work environment for maintenance staff and contractors, visitors through engagement, hazard analysis, training programs, good work practices, SensoryEffects standards, and proactive elimination of exposures Plan, organize and direct the maintenance operations which ensure the most effective use of mechanics, technicians and contractors Set a positive managerial example and develop/inspire maintenance mechanics to more effectively perform maintenance duties. Provide coaching instruction and guidance to employees in the department Confer with Production, Packaging, Warehouse and Quality Managers to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment Develop and implement an asset management process and total productive maintenance Thoroughly understand the equipment and troubleshoot reliability issues Assist in the development of long-range asset management and capital improvement schedules and budgets Educate other employees about reliability engineering and implementation of reliability processes Maintain the Preventive Maintenance system and process Identify the critical processes and understands how they affect throughput, quality, environmental and safety compliance Develop, recommend and implement strategies for improving the reliability of the manufacturing processes Review predictive maintenance activities and implement changes to the type of monitoring, routes, frequency and equipment monitored Maintain or monitor equipment downtime database with focus on reducing unscheduled downtime on key process equipment Maintain equipment criticality lists Monitor and performs trending and analysis of all Predictive and Preventive Maintenance data Monitor the execution and effectiveness of lubrication programs Generate downtime analysis reports and performs Pareto Analysis on results Perform others duties as assigned. Adhere to all Company policies and procedures, i.e. personnel, safety, and equipment maintenance and upkeep. Become proficient in areas of production and safety policies and procedures (accident/injury reporting, blood borne pathogens, confined spaces, emergency evacuation, equipment operation/maintenance, hazard communication, ladders, lockout/tag out, personal protective equipment, etc.). QUALIFICATIONS: Individual should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 3 years of work experience in maintenance and department leadership as well as proven and demonstrated leadership and management skills within a team-oriented environment are necessary. Strong plant background, demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanical process equipment, process automation systems, boilers, electrical distribution systems, plumbing and instrumentation. Prior experience in cereal manufacturing plants preferred. Good working knowledge of PC applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Superior verbal, written, and listening skills, and good data management and analysis skills are required. A working knowledge of predicative maintenance techniques working knowledge of Reliability Tools; Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Root Cause Analysis. The ability to use probability and statistical analysis tools is needed. Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high degree of tact in dealing with both plant staff and craft personnel are required. Individual should possess a personal style and level of capability that will command respect within both maintenance and operating organizations. A high level of organizational skills and an enthusiastic/positive approach to work are necessary. Attention to detail and the ability to work self-directed (day to day). A high level of initiative and the ability to prioritize are important. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Individual will continually be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, to talk and hear, and to utilize specific vision abilities including but not limited to close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, using proper ergonomic principles, taste, smell, and lift up to 25 pounds. Periodically required to lift up to and above 50 and 100 pounds, utilizing safe and proper lift techniques and equipment. Individual will rarely be required to sit. VISUAL ACTIVITY: Individual will operate equipment, including but not limited to computers, drafting equipment and instruments involving scientific meters and measuring devices. The ability to distinguish colors is required. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: SensoryEffects Cereal Systems requires anyone working in the plant or entering the plant to adhere to the personal protective equipment policies and procedures. All personal protective equipment furnished must be worn by all employees when required or needed to perform proper and safe working conditions. Individual may rarely be exposed to wet or humid conditions, working near moving mechanical parts, work in extreme heat (non-weather), work in high noise levels and vibration.
