training for individuals or groups within a framework of available
programs. Advises employees and management on appropriate training
courses. Arranges local training courses and in-house courses, and
coordinates arrangements for external courses and seminars. Makes
arrangements for further education and monitors the progress of
attendees. Maintain accurate training records, monitor costs, and
budget control of all training activities. Core
ResponsibilitiesAcclimates new employees in the department to all
aspects of their job. Trains on safety and job tasks. Will need to
know 90% of jobs in assigned department.Responsible for all
classroom training using PowerPoint presentations, videos, visual
demonstrations and other applicable methods. Conducts training for
new hires, as well as other Smithfield employees that require
training.Conducts all hands-on training in the department including
LO/TO, mule, band saw, etc. and ensures employees are properly
trained to keep all employees safe.Conducts required communication
meetings, direct and advise employees as to their job requirements,
and partner with supervisor in conducting formal and informal
evaluations of employee progress. Gives direction to employees for
improvement and monitors all employees for performance and safety
regulations.Accurately documents required training attendance.
Documents and maintains performance review issues, escalaing to
supervisors as needed.Assists other plant departments as needed and
miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor. The above

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed

or General Education Degree (GED), and 2+ years of related
experience and/or training, required.Bachelor's degree,
preferred.Strong critical thinking and problem solving
skills.Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and
concisely, in both written and oral formats.Knowledge of Microsoft
Windows Excel, Word and Power Point software and ability to
research the internet.Certified Pallet Jack and Forklift Trainer
Certification.Lock Out/Tag Out Certification (for machines and
locks).Fire Safety/Extinguisher Certification.Bilingual a
plus.Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on
a full-time basis.Ability to work well with others in fast paced,
dynamic environment.Ability to be respectful, approachable and team
