**PURPOSE STATEMENT**
The Global Network Design & Modeling Analyst develops and enhances
network optimization models to support high value strategic and
tactical projects across the supply chain. As a member of the
Analytics & Optimization team, this individual uses data to create
models and scenarios, presents findings and makes recommendations
that shape the long-term design of Rich's production and
distribution network. The position works closely with supply chain
and Product Category leaders to prioritize scenarios, assess
alternatives, and deliver recommendations for action. The role
centers on design and optimization of supply networks, selecting
site locations for new plants or warehouses, and supply chain
optimization such as transportation route optimization,
multi-echelon inventory optimization, and supply chain
simulation.
This associate acts as a data manager, analyst-detective,
storyteller, translator, and collaborator to provide data-driven
solutions to leaders at all levels of the organization.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES**
**CREATES MODELS & ANALYSIS**
- Builds and maintains linear programming models to support
proactive network design analysis that best balances raw material,
acquisition costs, manufacturing, and distribution, as well as
capital investment.
- Provides structured and creative analysis to identify improvement
opportunities or network alternatives and effectively communicate
findings.
- Collects and analyzes data, builds and validates models, compares
scenarios, enhances data maturity, and standardizes modeling
process (using LLamasoft Data Guru and SCGX tools)
- Fully documents modeling approach, data sources and
transformations, assumptions, and constraints
- Designs frameworks and improves methods and approach used to
analyze, assess, and conduct optimization studies - applies data
science methodologies to improve modeling approach
- Acts as the business owner for any software tools utilized, stays
current with technology and processes by attending conferences and
continuous education
**PRESENTS FINDINGS**
- Develops dashboards/presentations/deliverables to leadership to
succinctly convey recommendations to non-data analysts (using
Tableau or PowerBI)+
- Presents to leaders across the organization at all levels;
effectively translates technical results to non-technical
audience
**COLLABORATES**
- Partners effectively with Global Product Category leaders and
leadership of Operations, Customer Service, Logistics, Finance,
Sales, and Marketing to understand strategic needs and develop
scenarios accordingly - translates business need to data action
- Collaborates with other modelers and data science resources to
develop and enhance models
**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in industrial
engineering, operations research, data analytics, mathematics,
economics, or supply chain management
- 2+ years creating dashboards or analytics
- 3+ years working as an individual contributor as a key member of
the team that others rely on
- Expert with visualization tools translating data to story
(Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik or similar)
- Experience with optimization, modeling, simulation, or linear
programming - technical skillset with LogicNet Plus, SCG, or CAST
preferred
- Experience managing and manipulating large datasets (Alteryx,
Data Guru, Tableau Prep, SAS Data Prep or similar ETL experience
preferred)
- Ability to data mine, find trends and correlations using
different analytical tools
- Demonstrated planning, organizing and leadership skills - ability
to balance multiple projects at once
- Effective conflict resolution, facilitation skills, and
interpersonal skills
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills, particularly
in translating technical topics to non-technical audience at all
levels
