Your Opportunity
The purpose of Engine Room/Wastewater Operator is to maintain,
diagnose, repair, rebuild, adjust, perform preventive maintenance
and install equipment within and around the facility so as to keep
the production operational and have minimal loss of production.
This individual will perform the duties of an Engine
Room/Wastewater Operator and assist other maintenance personnel on
his/her shift and will be responsible for all necessary paperwork
and documentation as they relate to the job.
Core Responsibilities
1) Written and verbal communication skills:
+ Must be able to understand all written and verbal
instruction.
+ Must be able to communicate clear written and verbal instruction
to co-workers and different shifts.
2) Must be able to effectively utilize measuring equipment.
+ Tape measure, veneer calipers, levels, transit, and
protractor.
3) Ammonia Knowledge:
+ Must successfully complete a respiratory clearance test.
+ Must successfully complete the Level 1 Garden City, KS Ammonia
training class.
+ Be able to enter into an atmosphere with ammonia in the area.
+ Be able to work in extreme hot and cold environments.
4) Mechanical skills:
+ Must be able to perform basic mechanical repairs on all ammonia
and engine room equipment.
+ Perform preventive maintenance tasks on all ammonia and engine
room equipment.
5) Electrical skills:
+ Must be able to effectively complete the company electrical
safety program.
+ Must be able to utilize a volt/ohm meter to verify voltage, test
fuses and functionality of electrical circuit.
+ Must be able to read an electrical schematic for troubleshooting
purpose.
+ Must be able to solder electronic components.
Moderately skilled
1) Must meet all of the Basic skills.
2) Boiler Mechanic:
+ Must be able to effectively troubleshoot the boiler system both
electrically and mechanically.
+ Must be able to utilize the electrical schematic to assist in the
troubleshooting of the boiler system.
+ Must have an effective knowledge of boiler chemistry.
3) Plumbing skills:
+ Must be able to identify all plumbing components and sizes.
+ Must be able to cut and tap national pipe threads.
+ Must be able to read plumbing schematics.
+ Must be able to correctly install all types of piping.
4) Comfort and food storage refrigeration mechanic:
+ Must be able to effectively troubleshoot and repair the
electrical and mechanical side of our comfort and food storage
units.
+ Must successfully pass the CFC test.
5) PSM:
+ Must be directly involved with our PSM program in the following
ways:
+ Weekly meetings.
+ Managing our current PSM program through information and document
updates.
+ Participating in PSM related PM's.
6) Computer skills:
+ Ability to troubleshoot computer controlled equipment.
+ Ability to modify and troubleshoot PLC programs.
7) PSM:
+ Must have extensive knowledge and be able to maneuver throughout
our PSM program.
Waste Water Essential Function
+ Monitor water meters for ph levels and add chemicals as
needed.
+ Work with acids and cuastics, monitor addtion of chemicals;
+ Conduct teston gas emision produced by waste water
+ Obtain water samples for teting and record
+ Maintain pumps, motors, valves and water and sludge lines
+ Install new equipment
+ Maintain and clean eqiupment
+ Move drums
+ Other general duties as required
+ Peform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be mechanically inclined
+ Must have trouble shooting ability
+ Electrical and plumbing experience a plus
+ Previous experience handling chemicals helpful
+ ability to comprened verbal and written instructions
+ Abilit to lilft 50 lbs and push up to 600 lbs.
+ Welding experience is a plus
+ Selft Starter
+ Good Attendane
+ Weekends and overtime required.
+ Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a
full-time basis.

+ Frequent static and/or awkwar postures with neck and spine
flexion while grasphing, pinching, pullling, lifting,
extending,flexing the hands and arms.
+ Use a variety of knives hand tools, power tools and equipmnet
+ Able to understand and follow oral and written insructions
+ Additioanl essential funtions may be applicable to specific
jobs
