Job Description Extraction Department Superintendent - Lincoln, NELincoln Soy ProcessingThis is a full-time, exempt level position.Job Summary:This position has an active, hands-on involvement in the day-to-day activities, long-term planning as well as all aspects of safety, quality, production, plant goals, cost management and employee development for the prep and extraction department. Essential Job Functions: Provide leadership, guidance, direction and support to salaried and hourly union employees.Maintain focus on safety of employees and operations as top priority; ensure employees are following safe work practices and environments are conducive to safe operations.Ensure operations and products manufactured comply with all quality, regulatory requirements and national/global laws based on applicable product and country.Implementation and management of ADM's Performance Excellence initiatives and processes.Oversee planning of maintenance and capital projects to ensure ability to adjust operations in support of those activities as needed.Ensure effective communication within all levels of the organization, both written and verbal.Education/Training:Four-year degree plus four years of progressive experience supervising/leading teams within a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated capabilities leading, coaching and motivating others.Experience and comprehension of Oilseeds prep and extraction processes required (experience in Soybean prep and extraction processes preferred).Working Conditions:DustChemicals / IrritantsThe scope of the position may require exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed.Inside areas:Spring / Summer:
Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degreesFall / Winter:
Temperatures in the facility may be at or below freezing.Outside areas:Spring / Summer:
Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 100 degrees with potential for high humidity.
May be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and wind.Fall / Winter:
Outside temperatures may reach freezing or below.
May be exposed to inclement weather including, freezing rain, sleet, snow and wind.Some manufacturing processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift.Physical Requirements:Able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 55 pounds overhead.Lifting or carrying of weights over 50 pounds is rare. Employees are encouraged to request assistance in lifting or carrying objects that weigh more than 50 pounds.Able to traverse up to two (2) miles during the course of a work day.Able to move about or to a work site by stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting frequently during the course of a work day.
May require periods of prolonged sitting or standing.Able to operate equipment or diagnose / detect issues with machinery at different heights. Climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding to perform work at heights may be required.Relocation assistance is available with this position.
