Status: Non-exempt

JOB OVERVIEW
Assumes primary care for an assigned group of children to include providing basic care of children, preparing for activities and recording and sharing child-- s progress. Assistant CCC Manager in office duties: knowledge of CCC software, input of children-- s schedules, staffing, CCC billing and contracts of customers bi weekly, fully understands and implements Nebraska state, health and fire policies for childcare. Trains new staff and students. Answers telephone, reschedules children per additional days needed, answers parent and staff questions and others in order to ensure efficient, customer oriented service to clients. Work will be performed in an ethical and legal manner following organizational policies, processes, protocols and procedures. Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer satisfaction for department and Madonna as a whole while upholding Madonna-- s the mission and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(DATA)

  • Must understand current software and procedures for billing of customers
  • Maintains confidentiality of records and work information.
  • Adheres to facility and departmental policies and procedures when responding to routine and non-routine work demands.
  • Knowledge of the stages of development and basic childcare practices.
  • Knowledge of children schedules, answering parent and staff questions and other duties as assigned.
  • Works an assigned classroom and perform all classroom duties.
  • Monitors governmental regulations ensuring compliance of the CCC
  • Knowledgeable of child illnesses and state, center policies
  • Ensures API is approved if assigned by center manager
  • Knowledge of behavioral modification techniques and appropriate teaching methods/practices to provide activities for assigned group of children.

  • Coordinates orientation for new employees and supervises ongoing training to ensure compliance with Madonna policy and all regulations.
  • Ensures all staff maintains a safe/orderly environment allowing optimal growth and development for children.
  • Counsels and assists in resolution of staff conflict and parent concerns.
  • Communicates and interfaces with hospital personnel, families, and outside resources.
  • Follows instruction from supervisor to achieve the goals with Madonna.
  • Successfully solves problems and reacts appropriately under stress of emergency situations.
  • Maintains open communications with CCC manager, staff and parents
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must follow written and oral directions given by supervisor to perform other functions as assigned in order to achieve the goal within the department system.
  • Follow instruction from manager to perform other functions as assigned in order to achieve the goals within the department and Madonna as a whole. Participate on teams and/or committees as requested.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

    Must have constant near visual acuity with ordinary hearing and speaking skills. Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds with frequent lift and carry of 35 pounds. Must tolerate frequent sitting and standing throughout the work shift. Requires frequent bending and stooping. Must tolerate occasional to frequent horizontal reaching with both arms. Frequent grasping of both hands requiring normal grip strength based on national averages. May be exposed to bio-hazardous materials and body fluids when caring for children. Mobility required for travel to scheduled events or meetings as needed. Skills and mobility are required to drive Madonna Hospital 15 passenger van or mini-bus. Requires sufficient sight to see and read reports and computer screen. Requires sufficient hearing and speaking to communicate by phone or in person.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Associate Degree in Education or Early Childhood Education preferred. One year experience supervising a child care development program required. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Knowledge of childhood education theory and application required. Knowledge of principle/practices and application of management including planning, organizing, directing and controlling required. Knowledge of applicable federal/state/local laws that govern the area required. Skill in operating a personal computer and general office equipment and any special equipment needed for the care of children with special needs. Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a child care and work setting.
    CPR for Health Care Provider/CPR for Professional Rescuer/CPR for Pediatric and First Aide required. Must have valid Nebraska driver-- s license and proof of good driving record. Must be able to drive a Mini bus or 15 passenger Van to transport children.
