JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for the management of assigned accounting tasks for the organization. The Accounting Specialist supports one or more essential functions for the organization including payroll, A/P, A/R, fixed assets, and general accounting.

SCHEDULE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with Payroll Processing, including:

• 
  
• Assist with accuracy and compliance in all payroll functions including but not limited to payroll taxes, paid leave accruals, employee contribution and deductions, and accurate/timely reporting
  
• Ensures accurate and timely payroll processing of earnings, deductions, garnishments, etc.
  
• Provides support to employees and supervisors to ensure timecard accuracy
  
• Provides support and troubleshooting to users of timecard/payroll web-based software
  
  Assist with Accounts/Payable, including:
  
  • 
    
  • Setting up new vendors in NetSuite
    
  • Vendor payment processing
    
  • Employee expense reimbursements
    
    Assist with Accounts/Receivable, including:
    
    • 
      
    • Processing customer invoices
      
    • Tracking customer A/R balances and assisting with collection
      
      General Accounting, including:
      
      • 
        
      • Maintenance of chart of accounts in NetSuite
        
      • Processing journal entries as directed by Accounting Supervisor or Chief Financial Officer
        
      • Assisting with cash reconciliation
        
      • Maintenance of fixed asset schedule for the organization

          Minimum qualifications?
          
          • 
            
          • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
            
          • Work experience may be substituted for degree completion
            
            Desired Qualifications
            
            • 
              
            • Experience with accounting and payroll software including NetSuite and Paylocity
              
            • Experience with governmental accounting systems and processes
              
            • Experience with payroll processing
