The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is
searching for a Health Professional Program Coordinator to join our
Medicaid and Long-term Care team. Successful candidates will have
experience working as an LMHP with Medicaid and customer service
Location of position: Lincoln
Work schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm
Examples of Work
As a Health Professional Program Coordinator, you will be
coordinating for the Behavioral Health and Substance Use Program.
Assure compliance with State and Federal requirements; act as a
resource for other staff, clients and providers regarding
Behavioral Health and Substance Use Program. Conduct research and
attend meetings to address areas of concern and needs. Will serve
as a subject matter expert for Behavioral Health and Substance Use
Services in regard to system change requests. Will have knowledge
of regulations, review, analyze, and responsible for implementing
requirements of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Serve as a liaison with various federal and state authorities,
agency staff, and divisional personnel.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in business or public
administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public
health, education, law or related field OR experience in the
development of operational policies and procedures, performing
quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing,
contract management, or leading community based health/social care
groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may
substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for year basis.
PREFERRED: Experience as a Licensed Mental Health Professional
(LMHP) or therapy services such as occupational therapy, speech or
physical therapy. Customer service and Medicaid experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: the principles and practices of public
administration; procedure and policy development; methods and
techniques of program planning; federal and state laws, rules,
regulations and procedures pertaining to health and human services
programs; public funds and budgeting methods; quality assurance
mechanisms; principles and techniques of planning, monitoring and
evaluating human services programs and service delivery
Skill in: interpreting and/or clarifying policy to interested
groups; conducting formal presentations to provide education and
Ability to: plan, organize and direct a major program; work
collaboratively in a team setting; analyze, develop and organize
materials; establish and maintain positive relationships with
agency staff, service providers.
