Salary Range: Pay is Approx. $162.38 per day which is 85% of the full rate

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

This GREB could cover any of the following assignments on a shift. All pay rates listed are at the Entry rate. Entry pay rate is approximately 85% of full rate, to increase 5% per year until at 100%.

SAFETY: Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment, responding to safety concerns and taking appropriate action. May be required to handle hazardous materials.

  • JANITOR

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform janitorial duties within the terminal and other locations as directed. Duties may include but are not limited to empty trash cans, sweep, mop, etc. Must have a valid drivers license.

  • CREW HAULER

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate BNSF crew van and haul crews within the BNSF terminal complex. Must have a valid, state-issued driver's license.

  • GREB TSS

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all aspects of train reporting, including, but not limited to: Updating and maintaining inventory, arrivals and departures, as well as verification and correction of standing yard inventories, routing and disposition of car status. Entry and/or correction of waybill information and report preparation.

  • EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • INVENTORY MANAGEMENT: Handling reports, records and receipt of materials, shipping, disbursement, delivery, location, storage and physical inventorying of warehouse inventory.
  • EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Operate, service and inspect a variety of material handling equipment such as: overhead cranes, forklift trucks, stackers, equipment movers, delivery vehicles and other types of equipment.
  • SWITCHING: Assist in rail switching operations including: hook work for cranes, inspection and securing of loads. Janitorial duties as assigned.
  • CRANE OPERATOR

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Operate crane and assist the crane operator with cranes lifting capacity of 75,000 to 100,000 lbs. Assist crane director on blocking/bracing trailers and containers, both loads and empties. Mount / dismount flatcars to lock / unlock trailers and containers. Should be familiar with various TCF equipment.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE: Handle station and yard office functions, including updating train inventory, handling orders and directing train traffic, accurately inputting data into computer systems, typing letters and reports, and handling various forms of correspondence.
  • SECTION STOCKMAN

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for ordering, tracking and managing all materials and operation of material handling equipment.

  • INVENTORY MANAGEMENT: Handling and receipt of materials, shipping, disbursement, delivery, location, storage and physical inventorying of warehouse inventory. Converse with suppliers and customers in ordering, tracking and expediting of materials.
  • EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Operate material handling equipment such as: forklift trucks, stackers, equipment movers, delivery vehicles and other types of equipment.
  • STOCK CLERK

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for ordering, tracking and managing all materials and operation of material handling equipment.

  • INVENTORY MANAGEMENT: Handling and receipt of materials, shipping, disbursement, delivery, location, storage and physical inventorying of warehouse inventory. Converse with suppliers and customers in ordering, tracking and expediting of materials.
  • EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Operate material handling equipment such as: forklift trucks, stackers, equipment movers, delivery vehicles and other types of equipment.
  • BRIDGE OPERATOR

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The position will be responsible for monitoring and directing marine and railroad traffic around a lift bridge and operating the bridge accordingly.

  • DIRECT MARINE AND RAILROAD TRAFFIC: Direct marine and railroad traffic, raising and lowering the Lift Bridge as needed; Give trackage rights for Maintenance of Way gangs and B&B personnel, Protect personnel/equipment during train movement.
  • COMMUNICATION: Operate railroad radio, marine radio, and phones, Communicate with Spring Dispatching Office and Galveston Trainmasters as needed for proper train movement; Relay information from the USCG to barge traffic about restrictions at the causeway bridge
  • ADMINISTRATIVE: Handle small amounts of office supplies; not required to lift heavy supplies from parking area up to the office, basic janitorial duties in keeping work area clean, Prepare various reports and forms; Other duties as may be assigned.
  • TOWER OPERATOR

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for handling all train and engine movement in, out and around the terminal complex.

BLOCK PROTECTION: Protect personnel working within the confines by providing & maintaining track block protection for track and locomotive mechanical maintenance work being performed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Available to work in the geographic area indicated.
  • Able to read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) English.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
  • Available to work "on-call" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds without assistance.
  • Possess a valid state Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with H endorsement and current DOT 49CFR391.41 medical examiners certificate, or be able to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
  • Able to distinguish among colors and recognize changes in sounds.
  • Able to learn to identify, interpret and use hand signals from near and far and visually judge the speed and distance of

moving objects

  • Able to judge the speed and distance of moving objects.
  • Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling.
  • Able to perform work on uneven surfaces.
  • Able to work in conditions that include loud noise and fumes, work on and around heavy and moving machinery, bend, walk,

stand and sit for extended periods of time and use hand tools.

  • Follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe

manner.

  • Basic level skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and have used it in school and/or at work.

Able to type, without errors, at 25 WPM
