staff to help determine what is happening with our patients. They
are a vital key to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Our
phlebotomists work with our patients to provide the samples needed
to see results.

Some of what you will do:
* Obtain blood specimens by capillary puncture or venipuncture
using appropriate technique. * Correctly identifies patient per
written protocol and properly labels specimens accurately and
completely, while maintaining the integrity of the specimen in
relation to the test being performed. * Exercises judgment in
determining work priority. Interacts with nursing units to
ascertain critical priorities and verify discrepancies. * Disposes
of contaminated lab supplies and handles all lab specimens
regarding potential health hazards according to written procedures.
* Receives laboratory specimens, orders tests, processes specimens
using the centrifuge and * Distributes specimens to appropriate
testing areas communicating special instructions. * Maintains
professional attitude with patients, visitors, hospital staff and
fellow employees while assuring the confidentiality of all hospital

What you will need:
No experience is necessary! It is preferred to have six months
previous experience in phlebotomy and customer service.
Required: High School diploma or GED.
Preferred: Phlebotomy certification or completion of a
