Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking Web Developer. Join our team and utilize both legacy and modern, open-source technologies to develop, deliver and support applications for our clients while leveraging concepts of Lean, Agile, Kanban and SAFe. Our clients are some of the world's leading companies and the candidate will be a part of challenging projects to build and support technical solutions for their needs. Our client is looking to modernize and build integrated front-end and back-end enterprise solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Front End Web Developer will assist in providing services to a team that is part of a large program to deliver end-to-end health and human services solutions/support in a Public Sector client. The developer will be responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and implementation of software for a fully integrated cloud application enterprise solution. Work with entire team of developers to include web, back-end and database interfaces to ensure an integrated solution. Be a technical innovator on an agile team to research, test and build the conversion and/or integration of new solutions using the latest CI/CD technologies (React, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Dynamics MXDP, etc.). Responsible for application delivery management through an agile process of user story development and rapid responses to critical customer challenges. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software

  • Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications

  • Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements

  • Analyze user needs, develops user stories and decomposes to software solutions

  • Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software. Evaluates effectiveness.

  • Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms

  • Resolve problems with software and provides analysis to enhance the applications and architecture

  • Provide status to management, prepares technical summaries and briefings for customer

  • Create, modify, and test code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run

  • Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct

  • Perform or direct revisions, repairs, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements

  • Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer

  • Develop programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information

  • Perform as part of an agile team, utilizing Kanban and Scrum best practices

  • Collaborate frequently with other team members

  • Responsible for working with Java, Java Spring, services and microservice architecture

  • Develop and document solution architectures in alignment with the enterprise architecture by leveraging technical expertise and business process expertise in multiple functional domains (e.g., finance, logistics, contracting)

  • Enable minimization of custom code, the use of modular design, standards-based interfaces, and leverage best practices to provide ease of configuration updates, portability, maintainability, vendor independence, reusability, upgradeability, interoperability, and long-term supportability

  • Provide Systems Engineering (SE) support; ensure systems are defined, designed, developed, and tested to validate complete system functionality and alignment with Government system requirements


Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Health and Human Services, Public Sector, Federal or State and Local experience is preferred

  • At least 4 years' professional experience as a Full Stack Developer

  • Experience deploying React applications to Azure through Azure DevOps

  • Full-stack experience in software development, building modularized code with mini and micro services in cloud environments, to include the following technologies and tools: Java, C#, object-oriented design, and modern web frameworks such as React.

  • Familiarity with common developer tools, like source control (GitHub), IDEs, bug tracking (Jira, etc.), monitoring (Datadog, New Relic, etc.). GitHub experience required.

  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD technologies and familiarity with common CI/CD tools, like Azure DevOps

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Proficient with modern React (hooks, context, etc.)

  • Able to develop, update, and test components

  • In-depth understanding of JavaScript, the DOM, JSX, and relevant concepts

  • Experience with test-driven development

  • Familiar with browser-based debugging tools

  • Experience diving into existing React web solutions & driving them forward

  • Solid understanding of software development processes, methodologies, & best practices

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (Functions, CosmosDB, Azure AD B2C, etc.)

  • Experience with Distributed Version Control Systems such as git

  • Experience with Continuous Integration environments such as Azure DevOps

  • Experience with Automated Testing

  • Experience configuring and managing software infrastructure on a cloud provider Microsoft Azure

  • The ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines

  • Experience working in an agile environment, with Scrum or Kanban

  • Demonstrated ability to explain technical issues clearly/accurately to technical/non-technical audiences

  • Experience working as a team or technical lead in a software development environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team with adjusting priorities and deadlines

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience

Required Certifications:

  • No required certifications

  • SAFe, Agile certifications desired
