Manager, Automation Deployment - Remote Position

In this role, you will ensure Global Engineering Automation
projects, deployments, initiatives and processes are in conformance
with established policies and objectives meeting quality,
financial, customer and company objectives. Plans, directs, leads
and oversees project activity to implement key company initiatives
with the Global Process Engineering group. Demonstrates strong
leadership and communication within the Global Engineering
organization. This position will be remote based with 40%
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads deployment of automation cells into global facilities as
Support Elastomer Automation development activities for items
and formulas to be manufactured on the Auto Forming Cells as
Identify engineering requirements and assist in developing a
strategy for the implementation for the Automated Forming Cells
with senior leadership
Instruct and train West Pharmaceutical Services personnel in the
use of any special equipment that may be required after project
Keep Manager advised of any unusual situation, which might
impair the progress, execution or final project objective so that
they may act accordingly.
Maintain an awareness of the “state of art” as it applies to our
industry. Take part in educational programs pertinent to process
Partner and liaison with Operations Quality and Commercial Teams
to ensure the smooth and timely transfer of new technology into
operation and assist in the optimization of processes, procedures
Collaborate with the Global Process Engineering Network to share
and implement new technology to ensure the best possible technology
is implemented to achieve overall company objectives.
Support and direct project activity as required to implement key
company initiatives with the Global Process Engineering group.
Establish and maintain engineering documents and files that
apply to deployment of automation cells and process related
Partner with the Global Process Engineering and SME Network to
develop technology in the different manufacturing areas to promote
Collaborate and partner with the Elastomer Automation
Development team in Waterford as needed to ensure all aspects of
our Elastomer Automation Program is successful in both our
short-term and long-term strategy
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline to include:
Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or a minimum of
10 years related experience is required with at least four years in
a manufacturing/production environment.
Minimum 5 years of experience with rubber processes and
equipment design for compression and injection molding.
AutoCad and Solidworks experience is required
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing, six sigma and lean
Knowledgeable of statistical process control methods, validation
documentation and managing large scale projects and programs
Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as
they are related to the position covered by this Job
Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities
towards delivery of the set target
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
PLC experience a plus
Experience with large equipment installations
Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all
Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time
