Description:JOB SUMMARYThe Employment and Work Incentives
Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing participant
employment activities across the service area of Apace, working
with Employment Consultants and individuals supported across Apace
to develop employment plans and provide education to potential
community employers regarding workforce and employment support
opportunities. They will be responsible for providing education on
Vocational Rehab benefits to individuals supported,
families/guardians, and Apace staff, educating them on how earned
income could impact governmental benefits. The Program Coordinator
will work collaboratively with the Training and QA departments of
Apace, developing and delivering trainings for staff to ensure
compliance with state regulations as well as evaluating current
training curriculum ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSBenefits Planning:
- Provides benefits management services and education to
Vocational Rehabilitation clients
- Educates on how earned income may impact governmental
benefits
- Develops a plan to maximize all available resources Employment:
- Provides ongoing support and training for Apace Employment
Consultants to meet employment goals for the organization.
Including, but not limited to, the establishment of relationships
and engagement with potential employers for the individuals we
support
- Works with Employment Consultants to evaluate the success of
job placements
- Provides education and training to various community groups to
promote services or provide education related to supporting people
with disabilities in community-based settings
- Develops and delivers quarterly, monthly, and annual reports
regarding employment data for participants supported by Apace
- Networks and partners with local businesses to provide
education and support to ensure participants are successful in
acquiring meaningful employment opportunities and outcomesTraining:
- Delivers training to Apace staff over a variety of subjects,
including but not limited to job coaching, employment supports,
Mandt, etc.
- Provide Representative Payee training to agency staff as well
as review financial information to ensure compliance.
- Collaborates with training and QA departments to foster a
high-quality provision of services
- Assists with identifying training needs, evaluating delivery of
training, and the development of training curriculum, and overall
quality of training provided within ApaceProfessional Development:
- Continually maintain current knowledge of employment services
for people with disabilities through membership and participation
in pertinent training organizations
- Maintains membership and participation in community groups as
well as obtains and maintains applicable certifications, as
assignedPerforms other duties as assigned.Requirements:Knowledge,
Skills, Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication, listening and
evaluation-related skills
- Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies to meet needs
of individual learners including strong public speaking skills
- Understanding of Social Security including SSDI, SSI, work
incentives programs, representative payee rules and knowledge of
local SSA field office structure to navigate working with area
specialists
- Basic knowledge of public programs including but not limited
to: Department of Labor guidelines, Nebraska VR, Nebraska Medicaid
policies, Division of Developmental Disabilities policies and state
regulations.
- Strong computer skills including ability to use Microsoft
Office (Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint) and a variety of distance
communication platformsMinimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, social work,
education, or related field.
- Must currently have or immediately obtain CPWIC (Community
Partner Work Incentives Counseling) Certification upon hire
- Understanding of Social Security including SSDI, SSI, work
incentives programs, representative payee rules and knowledge of
local SSA field office structure to navigate working with area
specialists
- Two years of work experience in human services, social
services, workforce development, or related fieldDesired
Qualifications:
- Past work experience supporting individuals with
disabilities
- Current certification as a CPWIC (Community Partner Work
Incentives Counseling)
- Work experience using applications Therap and Relias a
plus
- Five or more years of work experience in serving individuals
with disabilities in the area of job coaching, benefits planning,
or workforce development Compensation details: 58600-66000 Yearly
