Job Description:
SUMMARY
The Nutrition and Dining Services Team Leader assumes the lead role
in conducting assigned daily activities at any nutrition and dining
services location to include the Bryan East and West Production and
Service kitchens, Café Express Services, Catering operations, and
In-Room Dining Services within the Women's and Children's Health
Unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently
demonstrates our core values.
*Functions in a lead role or as a NDS liaison between nursing
service and patients in obtaining patient food service information
via the phone; accurately enters/processes information into the NDS
computer system for in-room dining or routine food service at
assigned nutrition and dining locations.
*Assists with the assembly of food and/or beverages onto meal trays
and ensures an attractive appearance/high quality product prior to
delivery in accordance with departmental
processes/requirements.
*Orients new staff members in assigned area of responsibility;
trains new staff members in the use of equipment and procedural
details within the assigned area of work.
*Safely operates equipment used within assigned area of work;
reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to Manager or
Facilities Management immediately.
*Carries out assigned rounding activities with NDS colleagues in
association with NDS management staff; provides assistance in the
interview and hiring processes of entry-level NDS positions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency required. Food Handler's permit
required with re-certification required every two (2) years. Prior
work experience in retail or non-commercial food service in a lead
role or supervisory capacity preferred.
