Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Kearney, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,254 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/27/2026 About the Position Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Candidates must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility. - A driver's license is required. - Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments. - Candidates must pass an open book exam on skills learned during orientation. - Nurses will be required to titrate drips. - Floating to other units may be required. - Candidates must be available for holiday shifts. - Weekend work is required every other weekend. Description: The ICU unit consists of 33 beds with an average daily census of 16. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3 for adult patients. Common patient diagnoses include trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent procedures, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. Nurses are expected to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips. They are also required to troubleshoot equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPap, and high flow oxygen. Healthcare support technicians will be available three days per week to assist based on volume. Nurses may float to PCU or occasionally to MedSurg units, maintaining the same patient ratios. RTO requests need to be submitted upfront, with limits on additional days off. The unit allows self-scheduling for core staff, but block scheduling is not guaranteed. Holiday and weekend requirements are applicable as outlined in the contract. The charting system used is EPIC. All required certifications must be current.
