registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. An opening nursing role is
available for experienced Registered Nurses skilled in stepdown
care within a Cardio/General ICU, PCU, and MedSurg combined unit
setting. This contract opportunity is located in Papillion,
Nebraska, offering a dynamic environment supporting complex cardiac
and vascular patient populations. The assignment spans 13 weeks
with 48-hour contract shifts and requires readiness to support PCU
patient ratios effectively. Qualifications and Experience: Current
RN licensure with at least 1 year of experience in Cardio/General
ICU, PCU, or stepdown units Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and
NIHSS Proficient in titrating drips such as Amiodarone, Nitro,
Nicardipine, Epinephrine, and Cardizem Ability to interpret
telemetry strips independently (remote tele tech monitoring systems
in use) Must comply with hospital nail and dress code policies
(navy blue scrubs, no artificial nails) Location Insight:

Responsibilities Include: Deliver intermediate care for stepdown
patientsincluding post-surgical cardiac cases and downgraded CVICU
patients Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and
cardiologists available 24/7 Administer and titrate medications as
ordered for blood pressure and cardiac management Support the
thoracic program, EP, cath lab procedures, and structural heart
patient needs Participate in a pass/fail skills exam during
orientation; a 90% score is mandatory Adhere to the
patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:4 or 1:3 for post-surgical patients
Additional Details: Shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700, with every
other weekend scheduled Charge nurse present on each shift,
typically not assigned direct patient care Patient care technicians
available on unit (1:18 ratio) Must reside within a 50-mile radius
and not be currently employed by any CommonSpirit facility Drivers
license needed for application submission This contract requires
candidates to proactively complete onboarding within 7 days of the
start and accommodate a tailored orientation period. Adherence to
all policies is mandatory, with zero tolerance for artificial
