Job Description:
Job Description Summary /n Responsible for administering
anesthesia, monitoring patients vital signs, and overseeing patient
recovery from anesthesia. Assist with anesthesia-related medical
and emergency situations such as airway maintenance and pulmonary
ventilation. Required to comply with rules and regulations of all
applicable federal, state, and local laws as well as all KRMC
policies and Medical Staff rules and regulations. /n/n /n/t - CRNAs
shall maintain excellence in airway management and shall be
familiar with the usage of all airway adjuncts. i.e., Glidescope,
fiberoptic scope, ILMA, etc. /n/t - CRNAs shall work within their
scope of delineated clinical privileges and within the State of
Nebraskas scope of practice. They must also maintain all required
continuing education credits, credentialing, ACLS, professional
licensure, insurance payer enrollment, and completion of all
required employer/hospital training (Computer Based Learning) on
time. /n/t - CRNAs must also participate in pre-anesthetic
preparation and evaluation./n/t /n/t/t - This includes preparing
anesthesia equipment and supplies anticipated for the procedure.
/n/t/t - Perform a pre-anesthetic assessment and develop a specific
anesthesia plan of care for each patient and or procedure. /n/t/t -
The patient specific anesthesia plan of care is formulated from the
pre-surgical assessment and is reviewed with the attending
anesthesiologist for patients with multiple confounding medical
problems and or when the anesthetic is anticipated to be extra
challenging or difficult. /n/t /n/t /n/t - CRNAs will execute the
patient-specific plan for anesthesia care including: /n/t /n/t/t -
Maintain the appropriate confidentiality of patient information at
all times. /n/t/t - In accordance with departmental and regulatory
compliance standards, CRNA will review appropriate documentation
for informed consent and identify appropriate surgical site.
Participate in surgical pause in the OR with entire surgical team
in accordance with departmental and regulatory compliance
standards. /n/t/t - Use appropriate non-invasive and invasive
monitoring devices for continuous evaluation of the patients
physical status are selected, applied and/or inserted. /n/t/t - Use
anesthetics, adjuvant and accessory drugs and fluids necessary to
manage the anesthetic. /n/t /n/t /n/t - Implements, monitors and
adjusts patients physiologic condition as appropriate for type of
anesthesia and specific patients needs./n/t /n/t/t - Monitor the
patients physical response to the anesthetic and initiate
corrective measures. /n/t/t - Monitor airway, oxygenation and
pulmonary status. C. Monitor cardiovascular status. /n/t/t -
Monitor temperature, and neuromuscular function. /n/t/t - Access
positioning and make changes as needed for patient safety. /n/t/t -
Provide emergence and recovery from anesthesia. /n/t/t - Determine
the need for additional laboratory tests and provide resuscitative
care as necessary /n/t /n/t /n/t - Transfers the responsibility for
care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively
to assure continuity of care and patient safety./n/t /n/t/t -
Communicate appropriately with all individuals involved in the
peri-operative and post-operative care of the patient. /n/t/t -
Report and complete documentation are provided upon transfer of the
patient from intraoperative to post-operative care provider. /n/t/t
- Provide acute and chronic post-operative pain management
modalities. D. Select medications, fluids and ventilatory support
necessary to facilitate recovery from anesthesia. /n/t/t - Provide
post anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care as needed. /n/t /n/t
/n /n/n /n/n Education/Experience: /n/n /n/t - Bachelor of Science
in Nursing (BSN). /n/t - Post-graduate degree in Nurse Anesthesia
/n/t - Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska /n/t - Current
CRNA licensure in the state of Nebraska. /n/t - Current BLS, ACLS,
and PALS certification. /n /n
