Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Council Bluffs, IA Agency: Mindlance Health Pay: $2,200 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Mindlance Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Council Bluffs, Iowa, 51501! ID: 75668106 Shift: 12H Nights 12 Hour Nights Description: Unit Notes:* * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contractDepartment: Stepdown RN*Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS*PRESCREENAUTO OFFER - of Beds: 22- Ratios: 1:04- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, stroke- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- does take a full patient assignment- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: CPAP- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret strips- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // cyclic scheduling- Weekend Requirements: Everyother- Holiday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minor- Floating Requirements: Will float to ICU if appropriate and has experience- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1- 12 hour shift in the department- Additional Notes: Fast paced unit with many admits and discharges.
