Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Hastings, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,038 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medsurg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Charge nurse experience preferred Description: Department: MedSurg The unit has 30 private beds with an average census of 20 patients. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-6. Common diagnoses and types of patients include dementia, post-surgical cases, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, cancer patients, and COVID. Preferred experience includes chest tubes, pain management, TPN, CBI, and wound care. Charge nurses will take patients and may work in a charge role if they have experience. Nurse aids are present on this unit, generally with a ratio of 2-3 aids. Respiratory therapy equipment is available, including CPAP that respiratory therapy will manage. There are telemetry monitors on the floor with monitor techs available for reading. The shifts are 12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM, with no self-scheduling. Weekend requirements generally include every third weekend, with flexibility requested. Holiday requirements include working every third holiday, with expectations to work one of the winter holidays. There is no call or standby requirement, except if a shift off is requested or if someone volunteers to cancel. Floating may occur to a PCU, taking MedSurg overflow or very low acuity PCU patients. Dress code allows for any solid color scrub, with no patterns or designs. The unit has a two-day nursing department orientation along with one day on the floor for training.
