Nurse - PCU – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - PCU Location:
Kearney, NE Start Date: 12-15-2025 End Date: 03-16-2026 Contract
Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days:
6:30 AM - 6:30 PM; Nights: 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM). Typically 3
shifts/week to meet 36 guaranteed hours, includes
every-other-weekend coverage and at least two holidays during the
13-week contract. Rotating day/night schedule. Hours per Week: 36

people heal. Roles & Responsibilities Monitor and interpret cardiac
telemetry strips and act quickly on changes to patient status
Manage arterial lines and safely titrate IV drips including
heparin, nitro, dopamine, cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC Provide
compassionate, culturally sensitive care to a diverse adult
population Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including
charge nurses, RTs, and techs, to coordinate outstanding patient
care Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and
post-procedure instructions Safely operate and use lifts, vein
finders, and bladder scanners as needed Float to MedSurg or ICU
when needed to support unit needs and deliver consistent patient
care Qualifications Active RN license eligible for submission in
Nebraska Minimum 2 years of RN clinical experience Current BLS,
ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Competency with arterial
lines and titratable drips is required Experience reading and
interpreting telemetry/monitor strips Comfortable and proficient
charting in EPIC Ability to work 12-hour shifts and meet
weekend/holiday coverage requirements Valid driver’s license
required at time of submission Must pass orientation pass/fail exam
with a 90% score; artificial nails are prohibited in patient care
areas Education Active RN license with diploma, associate degree
(ADN), or BSN. BSN preferred but not required. Knowledge & Skills
Telemetry strip reading and cardiac rhythm interpretation Arterial
line management and assessment IV medication titration and drip
management High-flow oxygen troubleshooting and basic respiratory
support Post-stent and post-pacemaker nursing care Dialysis and
renal failure patient care familiarity Stroke assessment (NIHSS)
and acute stroke care principles Proficient EPIC documentation and
charting workflows Safe use of overhead and portable lifts, vein
