Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Council Bluffs, IA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,272 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; PALS and TNCC preferred Must-Have: ICU experience with drips, vents, and bipaps. Ability to titrate drips. Description: The Intensive Care Unit is seeking an experienced registered nurse. The nurse will care for critically ill patients requiring advanced medical support. Patient-to-nurse ratios will be 2:1. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction. The role requires experience with titratable and set rate drips, including vasopressors and sedatives. A charge nurse will be present on each shift, and they will carry an assignment. No nurse aids or patient care technicians are available in this unit. Medical staff includes a hospitalist available 24/7 and an intensivist during the daytime with telemedicine support at night. Respiratory therapy services are shared with the emergency department. Registered nurses will need to read telemetry strips but will have centralized monitor technicians for support. Navy blue scrubs are required for this position, and the schedule includes every third weekend. Floating to the progressive care unit may occur if the ICU is not at capacity. A cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shift cancellations during the assignment. The charting system used will be electronic.
