to find a qualified Oncology RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68130! Job
Title: MedSurg/Oncology RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty:
MedSurg/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per
Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS
(AHA) Must-Have: Good communication skills Accurate documentation
Timeliness Patient-centered care Description: RN's must pass a
certification exam during orientation. The exam is open book and
covers skills learned during training. Resources will be provided
to help pass the exam. A minimum score of 90% is required to pass.
Failure to pass will result in termination. Artificial nails are
prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to
remove artificial nails may also lead to termination. RNs are
required to titrate drips, including heparin, lidocaine, and TPN.
Charge Nurse or House Supervisor may be present. Unit ratios may
vary, with some shifts having nurse assistants. All RNs will
monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in cardiac
rhythms. Shifts will consist of 3 - 12 hour blocks from 0630 to
1900. Every third weekend is required for staffing. Holiday
requirements will rotate among staff. Floating to other
medical/surgical units is rare but may occur. Scrub color is navy.
Unit-specific orientation will be provided. Candidates should have
experience with medical/surgical patients, particularly
post-operative cancer interventions. Common diagnoses include
