Registered Nurse (RN) | Trauma Intensive Care Unit Location: Omaha, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,290 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified TICU RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68124! Job Title: TICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates with full-time, part-time, or PRN positions in affiliated facilities will not be considered. First-time travelers will not be accepted. Candidates with any license or background hits will not be considered. Driver's license required. Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract. RNs must pass a skills exam during orientation. Must receive a 90% to pass, or termination will occur. Description: This position is for a Trauma ICU. It is a fast-paced unit with critically ill patients. Typical nurse to patient ratios are 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:4 for PCU. Common patient diagnoses include various trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest. RNs will be required to manage CVPs, IABP, Impella, A-lines, Swans, and ICP monitoring. Training will be provided in real-time for essential skills. RNs are required to titrate various types of drips, including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics. Charge nurses are available on each shift, and charge nurses take an assignment. Patient care techs are present, with a typical ratio of 1:18 for support. RNs will troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow. No telemetry techs are present; RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips. Shifts are self-scheduled based on unit needs, with a total of 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule. RNs may float to other inpatient units as needed. The required scrub color is navy blue. Strong critical thinking skills, a positive attitude, and teamwork are essential for success in this unit. RTO needed upfront is 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submissions. Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
