Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A skilled Registered Nurse with experience in stepdown care is sought for a contract position in Franklin, Indiana. This role demands expertise in caring for patients requiring PCU and MedSurg level attention, with a versatile approach to working across these units as needed. Candidates should be comfortable managing complex cardiac patients and have a solid clinical background to thrive in this dynamic environment. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum 18 months RN experience, preferably in stepdown or critical care settings Certification in ACLS and BCLS is required; NIH certification is preferred Proficiency in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery care including TAVI/TAVR Skillful in managing arterial lines, central and PICC lines, blood product administration Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips Preferred experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps, ventricular assist devices, ventilator management, and cardiac catheterization procedures Ability to work a ratio of 1:5 and meet weekend shift rotation requirements Must obtain Indiana, compact, or temporary RN licensure prior to start On-call not required; flexibility to float within scope to meet unit needs Shift and Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) Weekend rotation every other weekend Option for block scheduling to be discussed Work Environment and Unit Details: The unit primarily manages cardiovascular surgery patients, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology cases. The setting includes all private rooms equipped with overhead lifts and telemetry monitoring. The hospital is a short-term acute care facility with 210 staffed beds, offering free parking and electronic charting via Cerner. Contract Details: This is a contract role with guaranteed hours ranging between 36 and 48 per week depending on schedule.
