Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Orthopedic Location: Kearney, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,200 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Ortho RN in Kearney, Nebraska, 68847! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical / Orthopedic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Ability to work within a team and be flexible Description: The nursing unit accommodates 22 beds with an average daily census of 6 patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, and spinal issues. Registered nurses are not required to titrate drips. Common medications include pain management drugs, antibiotics, and blood products. A charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment. Patient care technicians are available with a ratio of 1:13. Telemonitor technicians read and interpret telemetry strips. The nursing team operates on a self-scheduling basis with cyclic rotation. Weekend work is required every other week. Holiday scheduling rotates with permanent staff. Floating may be required to MedSurg, rehabilitation, or PCU units with MedSurg acuity. The unit values teamwork, flexibility, ownership, and a willingness to learn. Requests for time off must be provided upfront and are limited to 7 days or less. Additional requests for time off will not be approved. The institution can cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment duration. The charting system used is EPIC.
