Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Kearney, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,686 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: C-section experience required; strong IV skills Description: Unit has 10 spacious, private labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum rooms. There are 2 antepartum rooms and 1 OR Suite. The unit has 2 on-call rooms for staff. The average number of births is 50 per month, totaling 600 per year. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and NRP, while FHM is preferred. Patient ratios are 1:3 for couplets and 1:1 for laboring patients. The unit utilizes OBIX EMR and MediTech systems. A charge nurse, charge RN, 1 lactation counselor, 1 unit secretary/notary, and 1 maternity educator are present in the unit. Nurse aides or OB techs are available, ideally during both day and night shifts depending on census. Staff is required to work every third weekend, with potential for every other weekend based on staffing needs. One major and one minor holiday must be worked. Scrub colors are provided by the facility. Tele health is centrally monitored. There are no in-house OB/Neonatologists. Anesthesia is on call with a 20-minute response time. The unit's IV team is available 24/7, as is the pharmacy. Currently, the unit has a 9 PM on-call shift, with plans for this to evolve to 24/7 coverage within a year. Shifts run from 6 AM to 6 PM. C-section experience is mandatory as circulating is required. Staff may float to NICU for feeders and growers only. Orientation specific to the floor lasts 1-2 days. Common diagnoses and patient types include conditions from 32 weeks gestation, with transfers for other conditions. The unit has a no nursery policy; newborns stay in bassinets in their mothers' rooms. Skin-to-skin care is emphasized. The department is known for strong teamwork. In April 2018, the unit was honored for its designation as a 'Safe Sleep Champion' by the Department of Health & Human Services. Cancellation policy allows for client notice of 2 weeks, and cancellations up to 48 hours prior to a 13-week assignment incur no penalty. Charting is done in EPIC. BSN is not required. Trauma level is 2. Care setting is acute. Shift notes include required certifications of ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
