Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/21/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job ID: 70788012 Position: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN Shift: 12-Hour Nights (18:30–07:00) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days) Setting: Acute Care Division: Nursing Charting System: EPIC License to Submit: Yes BSN Required: No Unit Details: - Unit: PCU - Beds: 28 - RN-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 - Common Patient Types: - Adults, mixed medical/surgical - ER admits - Cardiac and stroke patients - High-flow unit with frequent admissions, discharges, and transfers - Support Staff: - Charge Nurse (takes assignment) - Nurse Aides/PCTs (1:14 ratio) - Unit secretary (2–3 days/week) - Stocking clerk (3 days/week) Clinical Responsibilities: - Drip Titration: - Yes – Heparin, Octreotide, Insulin - Maintenance IV meds (non-titratable) - Equipment: - Code carts, LUCAS machines, Hoyer lifts, Sit-to-Stand lifts - Telemetry Monitoring: - Techs available, but RNs must read and interpret strips Certifications Required: - BLS – American Heart Association - ACLS - NIHSS Scheduling & Orientation: - Shift Options: 18:30–07:00 (Nights) - Schedule Type: 6-week schedule managed by unit schedulers - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Holiday Requirement: Rotates with permanent staff - Orientation: - 1 week classroom - 2 x 12-hour floor shifts Floating & Flexibility: - Floating Required: Yes – to: - Med/Surg - ICU/ED (within RN’s skill scope) - Must be flexible and team-oriented Radius & Employment Restrictions: - Radius Rule: Must live 50 miles from facility - Driver’s License Required at submittal to verify distance - Cannot be employed (FT, PT, PRN) with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health RTO & Cancellation Policy: - Time Off (RTO): - Max 7 days per 13-week contract, submitted upfront - No additional RTO approved after submission - Cancellations: - Up to 4 shifts may be canceled per 13-week contract - Up to 3 shifts for contracts <13 weeks Dress Code: - Navy Blue scrubs About Nationwide Therapy Group NTG is a proud partner with healthcare professionals across the country.
