Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of prior telemetry experience preferred in a large urban hospital License: Nursing License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIH, CPI preferred Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required; must float within scope to meet facility needs Description: This cardiac telemetry unit consists of 49 beds. It is a fast-paced specialty medical/surgical unit. This unit provides growth in professional knowledge and expertise in the care delivery of cardiovascular patients. Staff will care for specialty patients such as stable heart and lung transplants and ventricular assist devices. The unit has a staff-to-patient ratio of 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Night ratios may occasionally reach 1:7 depending on staffing. Drips are required on all floors. First-time travelers are not accepted, unless they have two years of experience at a Level 1 academic medical center. The facility is a nicotine-free environment. Candidates must be more than 100 miles away from the facility. Two weekends are required in a four-week schedule period. RTO requests must be submitted with the application. Medical-surgical nursing units allow for up to two weeks of requested time off. All contracts must end on a Sunday. Compliance documents must be submitted by a specified deadline prior to start. Travelers must attend a mandatory charting class during the orientation week. RNs are required to wear specific scrubs with the facility logo.
