Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical Surgical (Med Surg) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Driver's license for radius rule verification Job Description: - 42-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:5-6, with 1:6 occurring at least once a week. - Common patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, and orthopedics. - A charge nurse is present on each shift and takes assignments. - No titratable drips, except for Heparin. - 24-hour Respiratory Therapy available on the floor. - Centralized Tele station, with Tele monitors on the floor. - Nurse aids/patient care techs available with a 1:10-12 ratio. - Shifts are from 0630-1900 or 1830-0700. - Weekend and holiday work is required as needed. - No standby or call requirements. - May be required to float to PCU or Burn units. - Dress code: Navy blue scrubs. - Orientation includes one week in the classroom followed by two 12-hour shifts on the floor. - The facility cancellation policy allows for canceling up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. - Utilizes the EPIC charting system. - Radius rule: Candidates must reside more than 50 miles away and cannot be employed full time, part time, or on a PRN basis with related facilities. - Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract, with no additional time off approved post-submission.
