- PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:The Social Work Department at ILC is part of
a legal-social work interdisciplinary team that provides support to
immigrants that have exceptional needs and vulnerabilities. The
services provided are based on a holistic, trauma-informed, and
collaborative model. An Immigration Social Worker is responsible
for supporting and ensuring comprehensive direct case management
and supportive services to unaccompanied minors and their
families/caretakers. While this social work position is not a
clinical/therapeutic position, it does require a therapeutic lens
and a comfort with offering a trauma-informed perspective to an
interdisciplinary team. - The Social Work Department prides itself

Immigration Social Work Intern will report directly to the Director
of Social Work. The Immigration Social Work Intern will provide (1)
trauma-informed case management, (2) documentation, and (3) other
duties as assigned. This position would begin with thorough and
detailed training and shadowing of the social workers during client
consultations. This internship position will receive ongoing
supervision, guidance, and mentorship from the Director of Social
Work and the social work team. - -CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE
POSITION:Trauma-informed Case Management
Offers trauma-informed perspective
and assists with presenting family system and needs from a
different lensUses social work training and Code of Ethics to
assist in contextualizing dynamics of client casesConducts a
comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to assist with identifying
needs of the youth/familyDevelops individual service plans based
upon needs identified during assessmentProvides crisis intervention
directly, as needed, or connect the youth/family to services to
ensure safetyIdentifies and establish relationships with local
service agenciesDirect case management and supportive services
including making appropriate referrals to address needs in the
following domains: safety, education, health, mental health,
substance use, criminal justice/CPS, housing, food insecurity and
othersProvides clients with accompaniment to the DMV and Social
Security offices, if neededMaintains regular and timely
communication with the supervisor around any issues concerning
safety, stability, or well-beingParticipates in ongoing
supervisionExhibits strong boundaries and client confidentialityBe
present and partake in intake assessments of clients with the legal
teamFacilitate communication during consultations between clients
and legal team to increase information for case
developmentDocumentation
Document accurate and detailed case
management reports for client filesCompletes detailed, thorough,
and timely documentation that are in compliance with ILC and social
work policies and procedures.Provide and update accurate time slots
and reports to our agency-client database systemsProviding detailed
reports to supervisor as neededOther Duties as Assigned
Participate in agency events,
trainings, and meetingsContribute to a fostering teamwork
environment Remain compliant with ILC's and social work regulations
and policiesMaintain an excellent reputation of ILC with clients
and community resource members -QUALIFICATIONS:

and Mission.Enrollment in a BSW or MSW program is
required.Excellent fluency, oral and written, English and Spanish
skills is required.Experience working with immigrant communities is
strongly preferred.Experience working with populations who have a
history of complex trauma is preferred.Lived experience is valued.

and ability to work sensitively and well with people of diverse
national, ethnic, cultural, religions, gender identities, and
socioeconomic backgrounds. Strong cultural competence is

required.COMPENSATION:
Pay rate of $15.00 per hour.This
position is a part-time paid internship, therefore is not eligible
