Quality Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Orthopedics for a travel nursing job in Gothenburg, Nebraska.Job Description & Requirements

    primary scrub person who handles the instruments, supplies and equipment during
    surgical procedures. Maintains constant vigilance for the maintenance of the
    sterile field. PRIMARY
    Sets up operating room prior to surgery by
    providing correct equipment, instruments, packs and supplies for the kind of
    procedure to be done.--
    Ensures cleanliness of the surgical suite, and that
    appropriate equipment is available and functional.--
    Opens sterile supplies and sets up the table for
    each surgical procedure.--
    Ensures that the members of the surgical team
    are properly attired and assists the surgeon with draping the patient to
    isolate the operative site.--
    Assists in the maintenance of the sterile field
    by applying principles of aseptic techniques and informing the surgeon/surgical
    team of infractions.--
    Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon.--
    Counts sponges and sharps with the RN prior to
    the surgery and before the incision is closed.--
    Cleans and prepares the instruments for
    Prepares the sterile dressing for the patients
    Strips down operating room by washing walls,
    floors and equipment with antiseptic solution and disposing of waste and soiled
    Assists the RN in maintaining proper
    documentation of patient care record and reports pertinent information.--
    Cleans, sterilizes and assembles instrument sets
    and equipment. Ensures that specialty instrument sets are sterilized and
    restocked in a timely manner.--
    Restocks the operating rooms and warmers,
    rotates the stock, and maintains dust-free rooms.--
    Assists operating room staff with room turnover
    and moving or supporting the patient intraoperatively.--
    Provides safe transport of patients. Retrieves
    and returns borrowed equipment and other items to department.--
    Disassembles, cleans and decontaminates surgical
    Operates autoclave and other processing
    Takes inventories of existing supplies and replenishes
    to maintain established levels.--
    Demonstrates familiarity with facility and
    department infection control policies.--
    Maintains confidentiality of patients,
    department and hospital.--
    Has a clear understanding of the Health
    Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and develops
    and follows department policies and procedures to maintain compliance.--
    Works effectively as a team member within the
    facility to provide quality service to hospital departments through
    communication, cooperation, and collaboration.--
    Expands job-related knowledge and skills to
    improve and adjust to change.--
    Participates in departmental CQI.--
    Follows policies and procedures to contribute to
    the efficiency of the Surgical Department.--
    Attends scheduled inservices that pertain to the
    hospital as a whole or to the Surgical Department.--
    Completes required continuous training and
    education, including department specific requirements.PHYSICAL DEMANDS--
    Ability to work and stand continuously (up to
    80% of the time) and up to 30% of the time lifting, positioning, and
    transporting equipment and patients of varying weights.--
    Ability to work for long periods of times as
    Ability to hold retractors for often prolonged
    Ability to work with hands in cleaning and
    sterilizing instruments when necessary.--
    Ability to see and hear in order to safely care
    for patients, prepare for cases, and make accurate assessments and
