Logistics/Transportation Manager

Saint Edward, NE

Job Function:

Seeking a highly motivated Logistics Manager who will contribute to the success of Hitch Pin Logistics, LLC. You will be responsible for all supply chain management duties including selecting carriers, researching shipping methods, assessing budgets, communication plan with Big Iron Sales Team at the St. Edward location.

Essential Functions:

• Manage the company s capacity to grow the business by controlling the overall transportation and logistics functions.
• Maintain reliable, timely, efficient, and competitive logistics operations.
• Responsible for developing staff, business strategy, and evaluation/improvements of logistics systems and/or processes.
• Establish and maintain a training program that ensures that all team members are trained and competent to understand the business.
• Correspond/meet with clients, suppliers, on-site auction location managers, and logistics team to ensure efficiency and consistency in process and procedures.
• Oversee the entire process of shipments, from acquisition to delivery.
• Identify and seize profitable business opportunities while providing solutions for the customer.
• Ability to analyze data quickly and multi-tasks projects and assignments.
• Lead efforts to improve fleet/equipment utilization, compliance, maintenance availability and fuel efficiency.
• Uses good judgment, discretion, and integrity to review, research and resolve issues. Considers all factors and takes appropriate action, making good decisions that contribute to success, and the achievement of Hitch Pin objectives.
• Complies with Hitch Pin policies and procedures.
• Willingly completes other duties and takes on special projects as assigned or as necessary.
  
  Qualifications/Requirements:
  
  
• Bachelor s degree in Business, Logistics or related fields and/or 5+ years work experience in transportation and/or third-party logistics.
• Effective skills of listening, verbal, and written communications.
• Strong use of Microsoft suite and Logistics Management Software.
• 20% travel required.
• Ability to lead, manage and instruct employees.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate time management skills.
• High degree of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• The ability to operate a forklift is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver s license and insurable driving record for travel.
