Reports To:--Service Director Classification:--Exempt Schedule:--40 hours per week, flexible as needed to accommodate program needs, and participation in an on-call rotation that includes occasional evening, weekend, and holiday coverage. At the same time, we're giving parents, foster families, and partnering agencies the support they need to care effectively for kids. JOB SUMMARY Pioneers Center serves as the only short-term emergency shelter for kids (ages 12-18) who do not have immediate access to another safe living arrangement in southeast Nebraska. Kids may be referred to the Pioneers Center because of: a history of abuse, neglect or domestic violence; alternative to juvenile detention; interruption of a foster care placement;--homelessness;--hospitalization of a parent/guardian; or for--short-term stabilization. A variety of levels of care are offered at the Pioneers Center. Crisis stabilization is a more intensive level of care that involves the support of a CEDARS therapist. To prevent youth from being placed outside the home, CEDARS also offers Basic Center services to families who are not involved in Child Welfare or the Juvenile Justice System.-- This position also oversees the CEDARS Reception Center Program which offers a safe, community based environment for probation officers and law enforcement to conduct initial assessments and access expanded intake assessments, as well as support and referrals for youth and their families. The center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week with immediate intervention services conducted on-site as needed.-- RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and coordinate quality services for children and youth in assigned program. Be responsible for ensuring that the program environment is safe, trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive.
  • In collaboration with Human resources, be responsible for the hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of the program staff.
  • In conjunction with the Continuous Quality Improvement team, plan and facilitate program developments and quality improvement activities.
  • Along with the Service Director, prepare the annual program budget. Monitor monthly census, revenue and expenses for the program.
  • Be responsible for program compliance with all licensing standards and assisting in agency accreditation.
  • Maintain positive relationships with referral sources and parents/legal guardians.
  • Represent CEDARS Youth Services at community meetings and associations as assigned. Provide information about CEDARS Youth Services' programs and services. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology or closely related field. A graduate degree is preferred, but not required.--
    • At least 3--years of relevant experience with supervisory responsibilities.
    • Must have a genuine interest in and concern for all youth and families.
    • Strong relationship skills, organizational and communication skills.
    • Sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the clients and families we serve.
    • Ability to provide effective leadership that fosters teamwork within and across programs.
    • Valid driver's license and a good driving record PREFERRED SKILLS
      • Experience providing crisis support and management
      • Knowledge and experience providing trauma-informed care
      • A collaborative team leader capable of fostering healthy relationships and a--positive environment--
