Job Description:
Position SummaryThe Engineering Manager is responsible for
oversight of daily tasks and projects involved in the Engineering
Departments. This individual effectively coaches and leads the
departments to accomplish engineering, operations, and company
objectives. She/he encourages the generation of innovative and
practical solutions to problems and performs fundamental
engineering analysis to validate designs. As a member of the
Operations Team, the Engineering Manager participates in the
setting of yearly strategic goals and then executes his or her

and Responsibilities:* Select, monitor, coach, develop, and grow
employees.* Develop policies, procedures, and standardized
processes, set goals, implement performance management techniques
to ensure repeatable quality of deliverables consistent with
Operations and Company strategies.* Collaborate with other
operations departments to ensure engineering deliverables are on
time, within budget and with the agreed scope.* Work with
engineering teams to identify technical and program risks and
define plans for risk mitigation.* Motivate staff and provide
technical direction and guidance, recognizing the role as that of
both manager and mentor.* Key Management Position is required to
meet the levels of leadership noted on form HR111 for their ability
to simplify, mentor, predict, systemize, and structure.* Lead,
advance and develop Royal's engineering processes for product
design and sustainment of existing product* Review and release
engineering outputs in accordance with the Quality Management
System.* Promote the company's quality system and cultivate a work
environment of continuous improvement.* Define and enforce
best-practice engineering standards and methods.* Manage
engineering team tasks, priorities, and schedules.* Review and
approve drawings, specifications, designs, and procedures.*
Organize and lead the regular scheduling and resource planning
meetings.* Make detailed plans to accomplish goals* Creates
Engineering budget yearly and updates by the 5th of every month.*
Promote company goals and lead employees to achieve personal and
company performance goals.* Initiate emergency action plan to keep
employees safe in the event of a plant emergency.* Update employees
on new procedures and upcoming events.* Process and approve
timecards for and complete reviews of subordinates, set clear
goals, and hold employees accountable.* Responsibly handle all
issues that arise within the department.* Ability to maintain
regular, punctual, and reliable attendance as set by the supervisor
according to handbook guidelines consistent with the ADA, FMLA and
other federal, state and local standards.* Abide by all safety,
quality, personnel, and other policies as applicable.Marginal Work
Requirements* Perform engineering calculations for verification of
structural design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and basic
electrical signal optimization.* Perform other duties as assigned
for the good of the department and company.* Specification testing
per customer and certification requirements.* Company travel as
needs require.QUALIFICATIONSWork Qualifications:* Formal education:
Bachelor's Degree* Experience: 5 year experience in management*
Computer Skills: Must be able to use common office software systems
and engineering software systems.* Certificates and Licenses: None
required.Professional Competencies:* Lead Manage and hold people
accountable. Develop employees.* Develop business and management
systems to maintain project scope, budget, and delivery for new
program integration, process improvements, and other projects as
defined.* Think systematically, create, and maintain business
systems that drive behaviors to achieve company goals.* Expand
technical competence in alignment with company strategic goals.*
