Job Description: We are seeking a transformational leader who

serves. The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS)
operates nine institutions statewide housing approximately 5,800
inmates. The department's focus includes inmate programming and
education, physical and behavioral health care, re-entry services,
and community programs, and is accredited by the American
Correctional Association (ACA). With a current vacancy at the
Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) in York, NE (a
maximum, medium and minimum custody facility), NDCS is accepting
applications for the position of Corrections Lieutenant. The

megan.jones@nebraska.gov. DUTIES: Responsible for specific shift of
a custody force. Conduct special investigations; resolve problems
between incarcerated individuals. Supervise the performance of all
assigned security staff, and indirect supervision of other
institutional staff. Conduct roll call and handle administrative
paperwork. Supervise custody activities such as searches,
institutional tours, visitor & inmate escort, and initial commander
in emergency situations. Requirements / Qualifications Minimum
Qualifications: Post-high school coursework/training in Criminal
Justice or related Behavioral field and three years of
progressively responsible corrections experience. Experience or
coursework/training in supervision and leadership. Must be able to
legally possess firearms and ammunition. Preferred Qualifications:
One year of staff supervisory experience. Experience using KRONOS,
or other electronic timekeeping system, in a supervisory capacity.
Experience working for the Nebraska Department of Correctional
Services. Other: Must have valid driver's license. Applicants
accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams
in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass
a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully
complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program. Must be
able to work all three shifts to include weekends and holidays.
