Job Description
Olsson is looking for a motivated Licensed Civil Engineer to join our Bridge team. Our Bridge team works on a wide range of projects including bridge and retaining walls, dams, storm and traffic structures, inspections, rehabilitations, load ratings, and assisting with construction engineering services. We facilitate designs on transportation projects that include grade separations, interchanges, and stream crossings for public and private clients throughout the Midwest. You will be able to collaborate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, and hydraulic engineers on projects that make a positive impact in our community while simultaneously offering you the ability to grow and develop a wide array of skills.
As a Licensed Civil Engineer on the Bridge team, you will serve as a task manager on small- to medium-sized bridge projects and independently perform design calculations while working alongside other team members to complete project tasks. Day to day tasks will require coordination with other Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, and clients. You will be responsible for collaborating with project managers on various design tasks to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet client requirements. You will have the opportunity to manage and mentor younger staff and workload through the duration of projects.
Responsibilities:

• Serve in a lead designer on small to medium sized bridge projects.
• Perform structural analysis, design, and facilitate production of plan deliverables on all aspects of transportation projects.
• Prepare engineering design criteria, conduct site investigations, and complete engineering studies.
• Calculate quantities, estimate costs, and produce technical specifications.
• Manage task schedules and budget.
• Mentor younger design staff.
• Occasional travel to job sites for site investigations, inspections, and project meetings. We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE offices.

    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
    • Master's degree, or in pursuit, a plus.
    • Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design.
    • Experience with bridge analysis and design programs preferred (LARSA, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, Lpile, SPColumn, MDX).
    • Must be a registered professional engineer.
    • Experience designing prestressed concrete and steel girder bridges.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • 4+ years of relevant experience. Additional Information
