**Job Description**
Components Research (CR) delivers innovative device technologies and architectures to enable Intel's roadmap. Our job is to invent, to demonstrate, and to develop game-changing and revolutionary technologies to enable Intel's technology leadership.
We're looking for a PhD level engineer to characterize quantum devices at low temperature, as well as perform simple computations of quantum circuits in dilution refrigerators. Responsibilities are the following:
+ Primary study will be on spin qubits in silicon.
+ Hands-on expertise with device electrical measurements is required.
+ Experience with cryogenic and vacuum systems highly desired, in particular dilution refrigerators
+ You will need to efficiently communicate and collaborate daily with other groups to determine and validate success criteria.
+ Independent design and follow-through of unique, enabling ideas is a key expectation from this role.
+ This position includes overseeing measurement equipment and collaboration with external research groups and vendor programs.

**Qualifications**
You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through schoolwork and/or classes and/or project work and/or internships and/or military training and/or work experience.
Minimum requirements:
Master's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Quantum Engineering with 2+ yrs of experience or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Quantum Engineering.
Experience in the following:
+ Physics understanding of quantum devices, ideally qubits
+ Experience with the electrical measurement of devices
+ Measuring qubits or quantum dots
+ Familiarity with quantum physics
+ Vacuum systems
+ Cryogenic systems
+ 1st author publications
Preferred:
+ Understanding of CMOS devices and device physics at low temperature
+ Programming, preferably using Python

**Working Model**
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. **In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.**
