Job Description Job Description Description: Job Summary: The Fuel Delivery CDL Training Driver supports daily bulk plant and customer service operations while actively working toward obtaining a CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements. In this role, the trainee may ride along with licensed CDL drivers to observe delivery procedures and assist with non-driving tasks during deliveries, under direct supervision. The position also performs a variety of non-DOT operational, warehouse, and service support functions, including order preparation, equipment handling, operating forklifts, propane system assistance, and customer interaction, in accordance with company safety standards and training requirements. Primary Job Duties: Adhere to the company’s Vision and Core Values. Adhere to and comply with the company’s handbook and company policies. Prospect and grow customer base by identifying new opportunities in surrounding communities. Perform authorized maintenance on ASME propane tanks and DOT – style cylinders, including valve replacement, inspection preparation, cleaning, and painting tanks, in accordance with company procedures and safety standards (follow the first CTEP school bobtail delivery with every that might haul propane or mess with bottles will go to). Assist with basic fuel equipment maintenance, including replacing fuel nozzles and hoses and supporting fuel pump installation or repair activities under supervision and in accordance with company procedures. Complete propane system hookups and gas tests as needed. Assist with propane system activities, including tank connections leak checks, and basic gas testing, under appropriate supervision and training protocols. Provide parts support and perform propane equipment diagnostics. Maintain bulk plant, yard, and cardlock areas by sweeping, removing trash, organizing workspaces, and performing general housekeeping duties. Assist bulk plant customers and process orders for oil products Operate forklifts and authorized plant equipment to load, unload, and move oil products, propane cylinders, and related materials in accordance with safety requirements. Assist on other routes and provide support within the plant as needed. Assist with oil operations by preparing orders, staging products, and learning customer-specific delivery requirements. Assist with other propane and petroleum products as needed. Participate in ride-along training with licensed CDL drivers to observe and assist with fuel and oil deliveries, including learning how to verify tank contents and proper delivery techniques under supervision. Perform all duties and responsibilities according to established safety rules and guidelines. Receive, unload, and properly store weekly warehouse deliveries according to established inventory and warehouse location procedures. Perform seasonal facility maintenance, including snow removal and ice control, to ensure safe access for employees and customers. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications/Preference: Education: HS diploma or equivalent required. Experience: 2 years of related experience and training preferred. Certificate, Licenses, Registrations: Class A/B CDL within 3-5 months of employment required. Hazmat Endorsement within 3 months of employment is required once the CDL is acquired. Tanker endorsement within 3 months of employment is required once the CDL is acquired Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: Ability to read, write, and understand English required. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and work with tight deadlines while exercising attention to detail, preferred. General math skills: addition, subtraction, and multiplication required. Excellent customer service skills and excellent communication skills, preferred. Experience using computers, including email, electronic log books, and other applications, preferred. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Other Essential Functions: Ability to have regular and consistent attendance at work. Perform job duties on-site at the assigned location. Specific vision abilities for this job include close, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus required.
