Job Description Summary /n GENERAL SUMMARY: /n/n Performs
diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the supervision of a
qualified physician. Uses ultrasound technology and techniques to
assist in the diagnosis of fetal abnormalities. /n/n PRINCIPAL JOB
FUNCTIONS: /n/n 1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and
consistently demonstrates our core values. /n/n 2. *Performs
ultrasound procedures to include obstetrical, gynecological,
interventional, and vascular studies related to Obstetrics. /n/n 3.
*Uses sterile techniques, performs sterilization of instruments and
maintains documentation of instrument sterilization. /n/n 4.
*Optimally demonstrates patient/fetal anatomy through proper
positioning and transducer selection. /n/n 5. *Competently operates
all ultrasound equipment and support systems. /n/n 6. *Utilizes
patient files to review patient history and provide accurate
documentation of studies; maintains patient confidentiality. /n/n
7. *Properly cares for and images patients of all ages. /n/n 8.
*Coordinates exams within the office and with other departments to
provide expedient and complete care; communicates with coworkers,
patients, and families to assure quality patient care. /n/n 9.
*Cleans disinfects, and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies
Office Manager of equipment problems and calls appropriate service
vendors as needed. /n/n 10. *Keeps work area properly supplied.
/n/n 11. *Performs the day-to-day functioning of the office,
including answering phones, patient scheduling, charge entry and
computer entry. /n/n 12. Maintains a file of interesting cases for
conference/teaching purposes. /n/n 13. Reponsible for mentoring of
students. /n/n 14. Maintains professional growth and development
through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep
abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. /n/n 15.
Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as
assigned. /n/n 16. Performs other related projects and duties as
assigned. /n/n EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: /n/n Graduation of an
accredited diagnostic medical sonography program required. Current
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
certification with certification in abdomen and OB/GYN required
within three (3) months of hire date. Must be able to follow
American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) guidelines to
ensure continued office certification. Two (2) years of clinical
abdomen and OB/GYN ultrasound experience desired. /n/n OTHER
CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: /n/n Basic Life Support (CPR)
certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart
Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for
healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network. /n/n
