Job Description:
One of our premier Careerlink Partners is looking for an
experience accountant to fill their role as Senior Accountant. This
position oversees the preparation of the Schedule of Expenditures
of Federal Awards (SEFA) as required by the Office of Management
and Budget (OMB) Uniform Guidance and supports accounting functions
for their office. The Senior Accountant works with organization
Sponsored Programs, Accounting offices and leadership to promote a
culture of accountability and professionalism. This position
assists in developing, coordinating, and implementing business
information and reporting strategies that serves the many
constituencies of the organization. SEFA Preparation and Oversight
--- Collaborate with organization Sponsored Programs offices to
review and enhance procedures and internal controls surrounding the
establishment/management of grants and contracts in the
organization's financial system. --- Oversee the preparation of the
SEFA to ensure completeness and accuracy. --- Serve as the primary
contact for the annual audit of the SEFA. --- Engage in continuing
education regarding the OMB Uniform Guidance circular and
compliance supplement. --- Develop and monitor policies and
procedures in accordance with State and Federal Law and Board of
Regents by-laws and policies. Business & Finance Accounting ---
Serve as a business partner for the development and implementation
of accounts receivable processes and provide ongoing support to end
users. --- Develop, manage and monitor designated accounting
operations and the performance of daily, monthly and other
accounting & financial records as well as ad hoc reporting. ---
Review policies and manage service center compliance in accordance
with OMB cost principals and OMB Uniform Guidance. --- Reconcile
and post self-insurance activity from monthly trustee statements
and prepare annual reconciliations for and self-insurance trust.
--- Coordinate and post various campus allocations. --- Completion
of various financial surveys. --- Works with the Controller s
group, made up of representatives from all of the organization, in
areas of financial reporting, compliance and other accounting
related developments. Compliance and Communication: --- Provide
assistance in application and implementation of changes in
accounting procedures and processes from changes in GASB
principles, regulatory change, or changes catalyzed by other
oversight groups. --- Build a culture of collaboration with
internal partners in the organization Qualifications Required:
Bachelor s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively
responsible experience in accounting and financial reporting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated
attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Preferred:
Educational coursework in in business administration with emphasis
in accounting. Master s degree Certification as a Public Accountant
Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) knowledge or
experience Work experience directly related to higher education and
government accounting. Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent
independent judgement and analytical skills; strong interpersonal
skills; a track record of timely completion of projects and the
ability to responsibly manage competing priorities; success in
collaboration and oversight of distributed resources and/or project
teams; and commitment to the ideals of the organization.
