Locums - Kearney, Nebraska - Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Opening (IMLC Accepted)

Position Overview:RecruitWell is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeon to provide 24-hour locum tenens coverage in Kearney, Nebraska. This PRN opportunity is ideal for an experienced surgeon comfortable with both cardiac and thoracic procedures at a Level II Trauma Center. Coverage is needed for specific dates with the potential for ongoing assignments.

• Coverage Dates:
  • July 14 - July 25; 7a - 7a
  • Aug 11 - Aug 17; 7a - 7a
  • Aug 30 - Sept 01; 7a - 7a
  • Sept 08 and ongoing
• Schedule: 24-hour cardiothoracic surgery coverage
• FTE: PRN
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based
• Trauma Designation: Level II Trauma Center
• Reason for Coverage: Current cardiothoracic surgeon on vacation
• EMR: EPIC

• Provide comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical coverage
• Perform Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) procedures
• Perform heart valve repair and replacement surgeries
• Deliver thoracic surgical coverage as needed
• Respond to consults and emergency surgical cases
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage during assigned dates

• Board Certification: Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery - Required
• Licensure:
  • Active Nebraska medical license - Highly Preferred
  • IMLC candidates accepted with Letter of Qualification (LOQ) in hand
• Certifications:
  • ACLS - Required
  • BLS - Required
  • DEA - Required
• Malpractice: Clean malpractice history - Highly Preferred (candidates with pending claims will not be considered for name clear)
• Availability: Must confirm availability at the time of name clear - Required
• Experience: Demonstrated expertise in both cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
